Sep 10, 2009 – Charlottesville, VA – A Happy Green Baby workshop will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 for parents who are looking for simple ways to go green. Happy Green Baby classes focus on surrounding a baby with a safe and and healthy environment, void of synthetic chemicals and harmful toxins. This workshop will teach parents simple ways to go green, through an introduction to cloth diapering and creating homemade organic baby food, as well as a brief overview on wisely choosing items that come in contact with a baby's mouth and precious skin, such as non-toxic bottles, baby skincare and baby sun care.
The workshop will be held at 11:45 a.m. at Downtown ACAC, in conjunction with their Pre and Post-Natal Seminar, located at 111 Monticello Avenue in Charlottesville. The event is free and open to the general public, with an emphasis on new parents and those with small children.

About the Doctor:
Healthy living motivates Dolly Garnecki, D.C., to use cloth diapers and plant her own vegetable garden—practices that have an added benefit of helping the environment. She draws from the frugality and conservation efforts of her grandparents who grew up during the depression-era. Both her grandmother and mother learned to can their own food and sew their own clothes. Although Dr. Garnecki doesn't do much sewing beyond repairing buttons, she appreciates the practical skills passed on to her from previous generations and she desires to share that wisdom with other new parents.
