Wings To Go crew with Drew Cerza(Wing King) and Award at Buffalo Wing Festival
Buffalo, New York - Wings To Go, Inc, franchisor of Buffalo Wings restaurants in the United States, announced today that it has won an award by placing a signature sauce in “The National Buffalo Wing Festival” in Buffalo N.Y., the birthplace of that American treat, Buffalo Hot Wings!
Wings To Go, Inc. placed second in the “creative BBQ” category at the annual Buffalo Wing Fest this Sept. 5-6th 2009. While there, Wings To Go, Inc. won over the hearts of many Buffalonians.
In 1985, two misplaced Buffalonians who had been away from buffalo for years founded Wings To Go, Inc. launching in Dover, Delaware. Driven by the desire to resurrect their favorite treat from home, they opened with 3 sauces and a Fry Daddy. Wings To Go was started as "A Wing and a Prayer" business that has turned into over 70 restaurants serving "Simply Great Wings".
Mark Goodnow, CEO of Wings To Go, Inc. said, "We are ecstatic to have won an award for one of our sauces. The competition was tough, with 35 companies entering 3 categories each. That is 105 other sauces to beat! This being our first trip we are very happy with a second place award”.
Wings To Go decided that 2009 would be the year to take their sauces to Buffalo N.Y. and compete in the annual “National Buffalo Wing Festival” where over 92,000 fans ate 40 Tons of Chicken Wings! That is an increase of 18,000 people and 13 Tons of Wings from last year’s totals.
By sticking to the motto of "Simply Great Wings" (paired with awesome sauces) Wings To Go pleased thousands of people in Buffalo. “Our web site has been very busy receiving rave reviews from our new fans in Buffalo" said Russ Clarke, Director of Marketing for the company. “We were constantly being asked by local people to “Please put a Wings To Go in Buffalo” it was great to hear”.
Wings To Go, Inc. will return next year to the festival in Buffalo in order to continue building it’s ever growing fan base.
