1.    The serial number is longer and longer. Since photoshop 7.0 the serial number has six lattices, and every lattice has four character strings, so you have to keep copying and pasting.

The ways:

There is a system equipped file called Abcpy.ini in photoshop and adobe acrobat. Use the notepad or UltraEdit to open this file and find the [OEM Install] under OEM Installation Options project. If it’s in photoshop, then you add UserSerialNumber=”xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx under the line of UserCompanyName=. And you must delete the “-”, so you quit after save.

If in acrobat, ISX_SERIALNUMBER=xxxxxxxxxxxx under OEM Install project and the x is the “-”. The position also is the first line of [OEM Install]. Before quit you should save, or you will be troubled for forgetting the serial number. Photoshop 8 is also the same way, but you still need telephone activation.
