Q.Trak™ is deployed at an Illinois CAH to track the time physicians spend in the Emergency Department, where the hospital receives a higher level of reimbursement. Existing CAH regulations allow for the payment (as a submission in the Medicare Cost Report) of physician availability services in the Emergency Department settings, provided certain criteria are met. These criteria include submission of periodic time studies that demonstrate the division of time spent by the ED physician in performance of clinical and administrative responsibilities and time spent available (“on standby”). Q.Trak™ records this data in an accurate manner so that the hospital is able to submit a Cost Report that includes information about the portion of the cost attributable to availability time.
