FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Sep 10, 2009 – For Accurate Cost Based Reimbursement (CBR) in Critical Access Hospitals (CAH)

Wallingford, CT. – September 10, 2009

Queralt LLC of Wallingford, CT, is pleased to announce the launch of Q.Trak™, a unique and cost-effective turnkey Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) Time and Attendance Solution available today. Q.Trak™ is a complete time and attendance solution for clients that utilize Active RFID tags with real-time location capabilities. This inexpensive solution can improve productivity by automatically tracking people as they move between locations, meetings and entry points. This enables Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) to segregate doctors by authorization levels more easily, and gives resource managers the information necessary to make more informed decisions around planning, scheduling and logistics.

Q.Trak™ is deployed at an Illinois CAH to track the time physicians spend in the Emergency Department, where the hospital receives a higher level of reimbursement. Q.Trak™ provides an automated activity report on each physician for billing and reimbursement, which has historically been done on a manual basis.

Existing CAH regulations allow for the payment (as a submission in the Medicare Cost Report) of physician availability services in the Emergency Department settings, provided certain criteria are met. These criteria include submission of periodic time studies that demonstrate the division of time spent by the ED physician in performance of clinical and administrative responsibilities and time spent available (“on standby”). Q.Trak™ records this data in an accurate manner so that the hospital is able to submit a Cost Report that includes information about the portion of the cost attributable to availability time.
