About AVM
AVM is an outstanding Chicago based rock group and recording act headed by singer songwriter and music producer Robert Mackey. With international CD sales and reviews, the response to their heart felt and dynamic rock music has been more than favorable. With heavy guitar leads and clean motivational lyrics, AVM is a hip relevant band with all the right moves that is sure to be a favorite among easy rock music lovers!
One of AVM’s more popular songs “So Hard” which was written and recorded in honor of the U.S. military families earned AVM a feature story in the The Daily Herald. Based on a real life situation "So Hard" was written about Master Sgt. James K. who is currently serving in Iraq. One hot summer day Stacy, wife of Master Sgt. James K. and niece of AVM front man Robert Mackey, confided in him the distress she often feels from the frequent separation from her husband. After hearing her story, Mackey was so moved, he went home and began to pen the now famous song, "So Hard". When it came time to shoot the music video Mackey insisted on featuring real life military troops.
AVM “A Matter of Time” CD Review; Sept 2009 Illinois Entertainer:
Chicago classic rockers AVM are heavily influenced by 70's rockers Boston and Chi-Town busting bands like Survivor and Styx, so it's not unusual to find that their title track to their CD "A Matter Of Time" was co-written by Survivor founder Jim Peterik with AVM vocalist / founder Robert Mackey. While they occasionally dance around some serious clichés ("Takes All I Have"), AVM goes for the Juggular on the mid-tempo rocker "Time for A Change" where Mackey's soaring vocals and Scott Carlin's soulful B3 keyboard shows them at their AOR best.
