One of the worst places for acne to develop is on the back. That is because you cannot see your back without looking at a mirror. Worse, you cannot reach it without straining your hands and arms. That makes it very difficult for you to start the process on how to get rid of back acne. This then becomes frustrating to people who are suffering from it.

What Causes Back Acne?

Back acne is similar to facial acne; it is caused by clogged pores. Pores are commonly blocked by dirt or bacteria that embed themselves in the pore through the oils the body secretes. Unlike facial acne, however, back acne is commonly caused by backs that sweat profusely. People who continuously use backpacks and are unable to change clothes when wet are more prone to developing back acne.

Treating Acne

Despite the difficulty, it is not impossible to get rid of acne. They do take some time, but there are proven ways for a person to reduce any occurrence of back acne. These tips range from the less expensive to the pricier ones, but the cheaper ways of treatment are equally effective as the more expensive ones. Here are some ways that you can treat back acne and prevent them from ever coming back:

Regular Washing

The singularly effective method of treatment is to clean your backs thoroughly and regularly. When doing so, use an antibacterial soap to kill off bacteria and germs that are bound to develop into back acne if not addressed promptly. Don't overdo it, though. This may irritate the acne and worsen the condition instead of easing it up.

If you engage in strenuous activities regularly, it is advisable to shower right after the exercise. This is to prevent sweat from drying and clogging your pores, which is the classic precursor to developing acne on your back.

Using Ointments and Cream

To complement your acne treatment, use over-the-counter skin cream to boost the help that antibacterial soap is giving you. Recommended products are those that are composed of benoxyl peroxide, preferably with a percentage of 2. 5. Some experts would recommend salicylic acid as well. Choose any or even both if you want to see which is more effective at treating your acne problem.

Keep Yourself Fresh

Lastly, always keep yourself fresh and dry. This means that you have to change your clothes every time your back gets very wet, especially during a hot and humid day.
