“Business-
as-usual is turning our planet into a hunk of charcoal creating a home that will be nothing but misery for billions of people,” states Will Marré, leadership expert and author of the new book Save the World and Still Be Home For Dinner (Capital Books). Marré will speak to a large audience of southern California business leaders, entrepreneurs, and non-profit directors at the Social Enterprise Institute’s Academy Finalist Showcase September 15, 2009 in which a local social entrepreneur will be selected whose new enterprise is judged to bring a revolutionary solution to a social or environmental problem.
The new wave of the future, according to Marré, is the hybrid between venture capital and strategic philanthropy. He explains that the boundaries between for-profit and not-for-profit are blurring into new forms of hybrid socially strategic enterprises that aspire to achieve a noble mission powered by a high growth economic engine.
In “Social Enterprise: How to Save the World and Grow Your Business at the Same Time” (
http://console.prweb.com/prweb/pr_tools.php?SESSION_ID=18...), Marré discusses how in the not so distant future hybrid enterprise will become the dominant business model superseding both traditional business and non-profits. This is because, asserts Marré, socially strategic enterprises are not only good; they can be enormously successful.
In his YouTube video, Grow Your Business and Save the World at the Same Time (

all at the same time.” He continues, “The world is better off because of them, and our future depends on them.”
