Sept. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- Everblue Training Institute will continue providing the original http://www.everblueenergy.com/leed-exam-prep-canada.html LEED Canada exam preparation course up until the transition to its new format. The course is a two-day, live course taught by a LEED accredited instructor and prepares students to take the exam before its final date of administration, December 31st . Tests administered after this date will abide by newer, stricter regulations. Courses will be offered from October 8th until December 17th in the following locations: Montreal, Quebec, Toronto and Vancouver.

In addition to the live instruction, students are provided with memorization worksheets, Everblue’s LEED exam study guide, and complimentary lunches and refreshments when they attend. After the instruction, students are provided access to post-course study assistance and feedback as well as over the equivalent of four tests’ worth of practice material. The quality of the instruction and preparation material has made Everblue a flagship in its industry, with a 90% pass rate on the LEED exams.

In Canada, students have until October 23rd to register for the 1.0 version of the exam. Based on the recent US transition, examinees are advised to register prior to the deadline as the volume of candidates will likely crash the existing registration system in the last few days of registration.  The transition to the new exam will include a requirement of completing two exams instead of one to become an LEED AP, which means more material to learn in order to pass. For the new standards, the Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC) has partnered with The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) to ensure uniform LEED Credential standards after January 2010.

The LEED Canada-NC 1.0 rating system applies to new construction and major renovations of commercial and institutional buildings, such as buildings regulated by Part 3 of the National Building Code. It also applies to retail, mid- and high-rise multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs), public assembly buildings, manufacturing plants, and other types of buildings.
