Richard Matthews
Richard Matthews, a young and passionate entrepreneur, is taking on a new challenge today. He has launched a new website in a very competitive market. The "How to make money from home" market competes with over 185 million other pages of content on the internet according to Google. But Richard says, "I think I'm ready to take on such a large challenge." He is of the opinion that his unique spin on the idea will resonate with people, especially other dads who currently work outside of the home. His spin can be summarized in one sentence "How to make money from home and lose your job forever." He's looking specifically to help other young dads who want to be able to spend more time at home with their families, but who may not know what it takes to build a successful business online.
We asked Richard for his best piece of advice for those who might be interested in learning how to make money from home. His words to us were, “You need a cause that’s bigger than yourself. Even if it’s just your family… Your reason must be bigger than just you. I know, because it wasn’t until I had a family that I stopped tolerating a pathetic existence doing something I hated. I don’t want to be that example for my wife or my kids. So I changed.” Obviously his passion for his family runs deep and his desire is to help other husbands who have the same passion.
Richard got his start as an entrepreneur when he was only twelve years old and his dad gave him a copy of Robert Kiyosaki's book "Rich Dad Poor Dad." He says that this book, as well as many others since, were the catalyst for his passion in entrepreneurship. Since then, Richard has been involved with many businesses. He started his first business selling candy to his classmates at a hefty profit while in High School. Then in college he joined up with one of the world's foremost leadership training programs and spent almost five years studying under the best minds in business and leadership today. Richard credits The TEAM with much of his mindset training and business prowess. He has also successfully run a wedding photography business for close to four years. Today, Richard has also helped several friends and colleagues start their own business blogs and has even given his wife the "bug" with her newly released site on Cloth Diapering.
Richard says, "I'm very passionate about family and the new economy. I know that there are lots and lots of people who are working at jobs they hate and spending tons of time away from the family that they love because they don't know what they don't know. They don't know the rules have changed... no one passed the memo." Well he's posting the memo.
