Itasca, Ill. — Putman Media, Inc., a privately held business-to-business media firm with 71 years of experience serving manufacturing communities, continues its award-winning tradition for editorial, design and strategic excellence. This year, the company broke its own record by winning 26 publishing awards in a single year.

Leading publishing and communications organizations bestowed the awards, including the American Society of Business Press Editors (ASBPE), the Business Marketing Association (BMA), and the Communication Concepts, Inc. Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX).

The Journal from Rockwell Automation and Our Partners, a bimonthly custom magazine published for Rockwell Automation, won the BMA Bell Award of Excellence from the BMA Milwaukee Chapter for Outstanding Custom Magazine. The award recognizes the magazine for overall content, design and fulfillment of its mission for its targeted business audience.

The Journal also won the 2009 APEX Award of Excellence for Feature Writing for “Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice” in the June 2008 issue.

Control magazine was honored by being named one of 2009 National ASBPE Azbee Award top 10 finalists for Magazine of the Year. Control is dedicated to excellence in process automation.

Other National Azbee Award winners include Control Design, which won the Gold Award for design, Front Cover: Illustration, “Will This Machine Work?” in the June 2008 issue. Control Design is dedicated to the special information needs of industrial machine builders.

The Journal was bestowed a design National Azbee Silver Award for Contents Page or Pages in the August 2008 issue. Food Processing won a design National Bronze Award for Opening Page/Spread: Computer-Generated for “To Build or Not to Build: Annual Spending Report” in the April 2008 issue.

Plant Services Editor in Chief Paul Studebaker was honored with the 2009 National Azbee Bronze Award for editorial achievement for Signed Editorial, “From the Editor” column, “The Nudge,” August 2008 issue and “Golden Rule,” October 2008 issue. Plant Services is dedicated to excellence in maintenance, reliability and asset management.
