Los Angeles County Renewable Energy Land Opportunities has Real Estate Investors in the Green

There has been increased demand for available land with particular zoning like previously disturbed (farmed) land for Solar Companies and mountain canyon land for Wind Energy production

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 07, 2009 -
Antelope Valley’s (Lancaster and Palmdale, Ca.) current green energy leader is the Tehachapi Wind Farm in Kern County which has around 5,000 wind turbines situated just east of the Hwy 5 Grapevine and runs along Hwy 58. It is the second largest collection of wind generators in the world. Wind energy has been in this part of Southern California for over 30 years with a current output of 800 million kilowatts, which can produce enough electricity for 350 residents. That is also the current population of Lancaster and Palmdale California. Wind power production in California currently only meets 1% of the energy needs of the State.

Last year Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed and executive order called Order S-14-08, which compels the State to use 33% of its energy by alternative energy sources by 2020. This has initiated a tremendous amount of renewable energy companies to set up roots in the Antelope Valley. The Antelope Valley has an abundance of vacant land and it is just sixty miles north of downtown Los Angeles. Its proximity to a large city allows for easier transfer of green power to the consumer. Wind Farms have long established themselves in this area and now Solar Energy companies have produced green shoots.

There has been increased demand for available land with particular zoning like previously disturbed (farmed) land for Solar Companies and mountain canyon land for Wind Energy production in Tehachapi. Ideal land for these green energy companies can be very inexpensive. Solar Companies have bought land in Lancaster area for $4000/acre, while land for wind farms can be found for under $1000/acre in certain areas. We located a slightly elevated property in Kern County with high tension power lines on it for $700/acre. It was later leased by a wind energy company within a year for thousands per month. We also located a small parcel for another client near a future Solar Power plant at Colombia Avenue and Sierra Hwy near Palmdale Airport for $21,000/acre and it was sold for $44,000/acre in under six months to a land speculator. Land investment opportunities are available, but you need to know where to look and to negotiate the best investment price. Our experience and knowledge can help an investor find the best location at typically 20% below market price. We have done it and we can help you too.
