Christian Sober Living Can Aid Recovery

Why do some people choose Christian sober living homes? What makes them different from all the others out there to choose from?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Sep 07, 2009 – Christian sober living facilities share a common mission of providing clean and safe living accommodations for those undergoing the transitional phase of adjusting to life outside of a rehabilitation or treatment facility.  The facilities believe in building a person’s self-esteem through a strong environmental influence.  True recovery begins with the drug or alcohol addicts mind set and is better facilitated through the use of Biblical teachings, strong belief and the power of prayer.  Through God anything is possible and this includes recovery.

Whether a person is new to recovery or has a past history of sobriety, continued support and encouragement helps a person maintain a substance-free lifestyle.  A Christian sober living facility helps a recovering addict make the gradual transition into a happier, healthier lifestyle and promotes the realization that it is possible to live and thrive in the outside world.  A sober living environment for some has helped in accomplishing recovery.  It is through faith in God and the power and strength of prayer, an addict can once again find peace and purpose in life.

Christian sober living facilities have absolutely no tolerance for drugs or alcohol, addicts rely on each other to help stay clean and sober.  Through awareness and education and 12-step programs, addicts are taught how to be positive, giving and productive members of the community. Recovering addicts are given the opportunity to become the person they are meant to be, living a life with meaning and purpose through the word and teachings of God.

Recovering addicts are able to stay grounded and focused on a life free of drugs and alcohol.  The facility helps a recovering addict change their attitude and perspective regarding the choice of maintaining a sober life.  One of the most important parts of recovery is to build a lasting foundation and relationship with God, to help achieve the goal a recovering addict is to play an active and vital role in their own health and well-being.

Christian sober living communities provide supportive services such as counseling and therapy.  A member of the community must attend regular meetings, find a sponsor (at some facilities this is normal), submit to random drug and alcohol testing, maintain sobriety and follow the principles of a Christian-based life.  Through prayer and reading the Bible, an addict can reinforce the strength needed to resist temptations of addiction, and recommit to a loving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Bible counseling and studying is the key to learning how to overcome the grips of drug and alcohol addiction.  By giving a person a new set of life skills and providing unwavering support, a recovering addict can learn ways to help themselves, serve others and rely on God for wisdom and guidance.  The word of God is sufficient to solve all the problems a person may have when transitioning into a new life.  A recovering addict will learn that God will provide them with meaning and show them the path to a happier life once again.

If you or someone you love is undergoing the transitional phase of recovery, a Christian sober environment can make the difference between recovery and relapsing into a world filled with the darkness of addictions. Visit http://www.integritywayflorida.com/drug-treatment.html
