A typical client can be a professional individual, couple or family who is concerned about health and wants to have delicious, preservative-free dinners, but doesn’t have the time it takes to make them. Back to school time is the perfect time to consider hiring a personal chef. Not only will it cut back on the time you spend on putting dinner on the table, but it also will give you and the family more time to actually sit down and eat together. . . An activity that has been disappearing from the American Family's way of life to be replaced by fat laden, preservative filled convenience foods instead.
       
Chef Tim says, “As a personal chef, I plan customized menus, shop for groceries, and prepare nutritious dinners for busy people in their home. I can cook anything from a typical comfort foods menu, such as Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes, to more gourmet items such as Rotisserie Roasted Beef Tenderloin with an Orange Teriyaki Glaze.”
       
He continues, “I only use the freshest ingredients and try to buy as much local products as are available.” He offers a free consultation to determine food preferences and any dietary requirements. This information is the basis for customized menus that will be prepared in the client’s home.
       
According to Chef Tim, no two clients have the same menus and each client determines the frequency of service. Some clients arrange for an every-other week service, while others find a monthly service fits their needs.
       
Chef Tim also provides in home chef services for small dinner parties of up to 30 guests as well as in home cooking classes and interactive dinner parties. He says, “Hosting a dinner party is fun, but having your own chef come in and do all the meal preparation gives you the freedom to actually enjoy the company of your guests instead of having to spend all your time in the kitchen!”

Personal Chef Tim Hering has been cooking for 28 years in various restaurants and is now bringing his culinary experience into people’s home kitchens. He is a Premier Member of the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA.com), a member of the American Culinary Federation and a Certified Food Safety Manger with the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals. He is also a founding member of the Western PA Chapter of the USPCA (westpachefs.com) as well as the current president and can be found periodically teaching cooking classes at the Kitchen Shoppe in Volant, PA.

In his spare time, Chef Tim is the Marketing Director for Soap Alchemy LLC, a Hand Crafted, Natural Soap Company and travels the country to various trade shows and conferences. He is also a Certified Cold Process Soap Maker through the Handcrafted Soap Guild (soapguild.org) and enjoys rock climbing, yoga, baking cookies, gardening, reading cookbooks and spending time with his partner Jordan and their many cats on their farm just North of Pittsburgh.
