Where were you when September 11th happened?
That's what American novelist D.L. Shiloh wants you to tell the world when you visit his new web site, http://www.911novel.com.
The site is dedicated to his in-progress novel "Waiting For The End," but Shiloh also wants readers from the United States (and from every country) to share their story - in 250 words or less - in a guest book section of where they were when they heard the news of the September 11th attacks.
"Where were you? What were you going to do? How did you feel, and what was life like afterward?" Shiloh asks. "I was getting ready to take my son to school."
While at http://www.911novel.com, readers can sign up for the D.L. Shiloh e-mail list, as well as alerts to any Shiloh news, and get pre-registered for the new novel.
Shiloh has been at work on "Waiting for the End" since May 2009 and reached the 35,000 word mark on this week. He expects it to be completed in several months, eyeing the small press industry, and will shop it around to various small press publishers. The work is the follow-up to "Pookoo", a satire about celebrity. "Pookoo" is available at Amazon.com.
"September 11th reached everyone - and I live in Illinois," Shiloh said. "I attended high school in Connecticut with people who were in the Twin Towers. My neighbors had a nephew who died in the Towers that day. My wife went to school with a woman who was a temp and escaped before the collapse. Everyone has a memory to share. Everyone remembers that fateful day."
"We request that people use respect when posting their 9-11 memory and use it as a sacred place," Homefield Multimedia'a Mike Pace said. "We want a positive space, so please respect that wish."
