American Patriot Program Announces Honor Event for Sept. 9th in Illinois.

The American Patriot Program (TAPP) has announced that an honor event will be held in Illinois on September 9th to honor nominations that the TAPP nomination team jointly received from Silver Star Families of America and the Illinois Cook County Veterans Assistance Commission.

The American Patriot Program is a group of nine baseball organizations joined from around the United States united to honor combat wounded American Veterans.  America Supports You Texas President Jack Barnes serves as it's Chief Nomination Advisor.

In addition to the American Patriot Award, TAPP will also be providing 25 'Nominated American Patriot' shirts to a selected group of Veterans arranged by Veterans Assistance Commission Superintendent Richard Morbidoni as a courtesy.

The Chicago Cubs also have joined in to further complement the event by donating two autographed items toward the national award ceremony.

TAPP Founder Wes Hazlett, said of the selections, "You just have to let out a deep exhale when you realize that you are face to face with a big reason why America is a free Country- we honor some of our Nation's best in these selections."

Sergeant Sam Floberg was selected as a TAPP honored American Patriot at a September 3 honor event in Fargo, North Dakota for his injuries sustained in a rocket-propelled grenade attack while serving with the 188th in Afghanistan in 2006.  Also at the event, the family of fallen soldier Cpl. Nathan J. Goodiron's family was presented with Patriot items that honored the ultimate sacrifice that Goodiron made for America.

For more information on the coming event you may contact Richard Morbidoni, VAC Superintendent at 708.865.6580.  Additional information may be received from TAPP's official website at www.americanpatriotprogram.org.
