Portland, Oregon – The Internet’s leading streetball destination announced today that it has re-launched its web site with a new look and a change in leadership.  Greg Johnson, former Marketing Director and founding team member of the Jordan Brand at Nike, has joined the company as its Chief Executive Officer.  In his current capacity, Greg will oversee the day-to-day operations as well as business development for the company.  The company is headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, near the Nike campus.

“I am excited to join a very successful team that is part of something special in the game of basketball,” said Johnson.  “Streetball is extremely popular around the world and we believe that our company will continue to act as a vehicle that provides exposure to elevate this aspect of the game.”

The redesign of the site also positions Streetball.com to thrive as a global network for basketball and hip hop lifestyle, bringing players, fans and enthusiasts together in an online community.  Played on outdoor courts around the world, Streetball has thousands of organized programs, tournaments and leagues which the company hopes to continue to popularize, as well as the millions of informal games every day.

Founded in 2006 by Ryan Mendez and David Moseley who were teammates on the 1998 Stanford University NCAA Final Four team, Streetball.com quickly rose as one of the top basketball web sites.  Prior to launching the site, Ryan played overseas in Australia and Spain before returning to the U.S. to work in investment banking.  David also played a number of years overseas in Europe and South America , then followed his economic instincts to the online world as a Project Manager for Arch Axis, a leader in web design.  Rounding out the management team is James Pritchett, a former Creative and Marketing Director for AT&T, Art Director for multiple magazines and founding team member of a leading national online sports social networking site.

The Board of Directors also includes two prominent members of the business community, Mike Levinthal, a 20-year veteran of Mayfield Fund and Dave Bagshaw, a Silicon Valley veteran from Silicon Graphics, @Home Network and Shutterfly.com.

About Streetball.com
Streetball.com was born from the hearts of Ryan Mendez and David Moseley in 2006.  Both were former standout guards at Stanford University who were part of the final four team in 1998.  Their passion for basketball led them to start this online community.  Their goal was to create a place online where those that love the game of basketball could connect with each other and express their love for the game in their own way.  They also wanted to give youth an opportunity to learn more about online technology.
