PRLog - Sep. 4, 2009 - Chris Eboch, author of the new Haunted series and 10 other books for children, will be speaking and giving workshops at events around the country.

Chris launched her spooky new series at the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators annual summer conference in Los Angeles. Her workshop, What I Learned from Nancy Drew – Tools for Fast-Paced Plotting, was standing room only. Lucia Zimmitti, a New Mexico writer and freelance editor through www.ManuscriptRx.com, said, “I want to stress how helpful I found [this] session. The presentation was great, and I love the idea of looking at it from the Nancy Drew perspective. Excellent!”

This fall, Chris will be participating in the New Mexico Women Authors’ Book Festival in Santa Fe, on September 26, and the Bookworks Local Author Fair in Albuquerque on October 4. She is giving a full-day workshop, called Destination Publication, in Austin, Texas on October 10. On November 21, she will repeat her workshop on What I Learned from Nancy Drew – Tools for Fast-Paced Plotting for SouthWest Writers in Albuquerque. In 2010, she is scheduled to speak in New York City, Arizona and Oregon.

The Haunted series follows siblings Jon and Tania, as they travel with their parents’ ghost hunter TV show. In the first book, The Ghost on the Stairs, Tania discovers she can see and talk to ghosts – a fact she wants to keep secret from everyone but Jon. While the TV show films at an old hotel in Colorado, Jon and Tania find themselves trapped in a ghostly love story that happened more than a century ago. Local legend has it that a ghost bride still wanders the hotel, waiting for her lost husband. This fearless brother-sister duo struggle to reunite the newlywed couple – and put these ghosts to rest at last.

Chris’s other books include The Well of Sacrifice, a middle grade drama set in ninth-century Guatemala, which has been used in Socorro schools. Chris teaches through the Institute of Children's Literature and is the New Mexico Regional Advisor for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
