For the fourth time since 2006, the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences has nominated PlattForm’s Video Production Department for its philanthropic efforts.
On Aug. 20, NATAS nominated PlattForm for a regional Emmy in the Best Informational/
Selected from seven entrants, PlattForm’s piece is competing against two other nominees to be crowned as the Best Informational/
“To date, our production work has raised nearly $800,000 for SAVE,” said Michael Mackie, Senior Writer/Director at PlattForm. “The video has a powerful, heartfelt message in it. It’s amazing to be recognized for our collaborative charitable efforts again.”
“The video exemplifies why I work at SAVE, Inc.,” SAVE Executive Director Zori Rodríguez. “It not only tells the story of how safe and stable housing makes life so much better for our clients, but it makes us feel the need and the passion for a home that all of us share. The video shows us, in images and words of real residents, how having a home makes all the difference to their quality of life.”
In 2005, PlattForm employees formed a philanthropic committee, and SAVE, Inc. was the first organization to benefit from the company’s charitable endeavors. Since then, PlattForm has produced videos annually for SAVE, Inc. as well as many other Kansas City-based charitable organizations.
“This was a labor of love,” said Jason Kerschner, PlattForm Director of Video Production. “Our department is proud of our philanthropic endeavors and the chance to use our collective energies for such good causes.”
The winners will be announced at the awards gala in St. Louis on Oct. 3.
