BROOKSVILLE, FL – Accuform Signs, North America’s leading manufacturer of facility safety identification products, introduced its H1N1 flu safety awareness poster just prior to what is suspected to be the peak of the outbreak of the H1N1 flu, or swine flu.

Below is a timeline on the pandemic virus:

•The first recorded case in the United States came on April 15th of this year. The second on April 17th.
•By June 19th, all 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands reported cases of the H1N1 flu.
•Roughly one month later  there were 43,771 confirmed cases of the novel H1N1 flu, with 5,011 hospitalizations and 302 deaths.
•As of August 27th, 2009, there were 8,843 cases of hospitalization and 556 deaths attributed to the H1N1 flu.
•The H1N1 flu virus could cause up to 90,000 deaths in the U.S. mainly among children and young adults.
