Classical diva Katherine Jenkins is gearing up for her performance at the Big Gig weekend taking place in Shepton Mallet from September 25 to 27.
The stunning mezzo-soprano singer, 28, is planning to wow crowds of up to 8,000 with renditions of old classics including Rule Britannia, Amazing Grace and Land of Hope and Glory in a Last night of the Proms-esque performance.
As well as this Katherine will also perform popular hits such as Hallelujah, We’ll Meet Again and I Will Always Love you.
Katherine will deliver the stunning pieces supported by The National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis. She will also be joined on stage by celebrated tenor Thomas Spencer Wortley.
Thomas has extensive West End and Classical music experience and will be a welcome accompaniment to the sultry tones of Neath-born Katherine.
Katherine is due to appear on Sunday 27, which is the last night of the three-night event. Visitors are being encouraged to bring picnics and champagne to make the most of what will be one of the last picnic concerts of the summer.
Also appearing at the Big Gig is pop sensation James Morrison on Friday and Boyzone, Peter Andre and Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity on Saturday. Tickets are selling quickly so act fast if you want to see this fantastic line-up.
