(Scottsdale, Ariz.) – Maracay Homes is pleased to announce that veteran homebuilder Andy Warren is the company’s new president, taking over the reins of Maracay Homes from founder Dave Bessey. Warren joins Maracay Homes having most recently served as partner and chief operating officer of EYA, a homebuilder based in Bethesda, Md.
“I am more enthusiastic about the opportunity here at Maracay Homes than anything I’ve been involved with in my 25-year career in the homebuilding industry,” said Maracay Homes President Andy Warren. “Most of that enthusiasm is due to the people that I've met at Maracay Homes. While the market has certainly been through a tough couple of years, you'd never know it from the positive attitude displayed by Maracay Homes’ employees.”
Before joining Maracay Homes, Warren served five years as partner and chief operating officer of EYA, a private builder and developer based in the greater Washington, D.C., area. He was instrumental in guiding the company to recognition as “America’s Best Builder” by Builder Magazine, published by Hanley Wood, national authority on homebuilder research. Prior to that time, Warren held progressively more responsible leadership roles over 16 years for Winchester Homes, headquartered in Bethesda, Md. Winchester Homes is a sister builder to Maracay Homes.
Warren holds a MBA in finance from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Wake Forest University.
“Now that the market is improving, it is the combination of an amazing team and company attributes that will help to ensure even greater success for Maracay Homes, its employees, and most importantly our customers, now and in the future,” said Warren.
Andy is active on the Community Building Consortium for Greater Phoenix Economic Council and serves as builder representative for the Home Builder’s Association of Central Arizona.
