The George Washington University Homeland Security Policy Institute (HSPI) will host Gil Kerlikowske, Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), for a Policy & Research Forum focused on President Obama's recently released counter-narcotics strategy for the US-Mexican border. This interactive session will cover detection and interdiction efforts; the potential "spillover" effects of President Calderón's battle against Mexican drug lords; and the challenges inherent in coordinating counter-narcotics policy at the international, national, state and local levels.
