NEWPORT, RI COMPANY ADDS 400TH EMPLOYEE
(NEWPORT, RI) – Advanced Financial Services (AFS), with over 110 hires year-to-date, surpassed 400 employees this month. The company credits the Governor’s Workforce Board and the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation for supporting its growth by awarding it a $77k Job Creation Grant.
The bulk of Advanced Financial Services’ employees work within the 75,000 square foot two-building campus in Newport, Rhode Island. The space has recently undergone extensive renovations in order accommodate its continued growth objectives.
Two new divisions – internet origination and retail origination – along with the commensurate employee services needed to support these recent launches constitute the majority of job growth. These new employees join a company that has been recognized four straight years as the “Best Place to Work in Rhode Island”; and five times as one of the “50 Best Small and Medium-sized Companies to Work for in America” (both by the Society of Human Resource Management and the Great Place to Work Institute).The Providence Business News ranked (by 2008 revenue) AFS as the 33rd “Top Private Company” in Rhode Island in its August 31 – September 6, 2009 edition.
