Who Can Afford A Butler These Days?

In today's financial climate it might be hard to believe that people are still employing full time domestic staff. The Butler Bureau states not only that they are but also that canny employers are actually saving themselves money when they do.

Contrary to what one might believe Butlers, Personal Chefs, Nannies and every variation of domestic service staff continue to be hired by families worldwide.

" While it may be true that staff already in secure domestic staff employment may be less inclined to look for a new job for a small hike in pay, employers are still searching for professional domestic service staff. In fact demand has risen." So says Clive McGonigal, CEO of The Butler Bureau.  ( http://www.thebutlerbureau.com )

He went on to explain that many wives are now choosing to return to the well paid careers they gave up prior to raising the children and looking after the family home and, by so doing, creating another financial barrier against possible worse times ahead. Employing a professional domestic staff servant can, often, make sound financial sense.

Trained and experienced Nannies, House Managers, Domestic Couples and more are sought after to provide a family with the efficient running of their household, family and daily lives. Outsourcing these responsibilities to an experienced employee or employees can increase a household's revenue rather than eat into it.

"This does not mean" he continues, " that money is no object - far from it."

Canny employers are, in many instances, cutting out the middle man when it comes to interviewing and hiring staff. A bespoke domestic staff agency's fees for finding the right employee can run into thousands of dollars, often 20 percent or more of the staff member's annual salary.

" That's where the Butler Bureau comes in." says Clive," We offer a platform for staff and employers to contact and communicate with one another directly and confidentially and we offer advice to employers on how to check references, backgrounds and so on thereby avoiding the need for an agency or staff consultant to do so on their behalf. Families can have the peace of mind of knowing that their new staff member's personal and professional history has been examined and verified, even before the initial interview if they so choose."

So does Clive mean that professional agencies are a thing of the past? "Absolutely not." he asserts, " In fact we list, and have good relationships with, reputable domestic staff agencies from around the world on the Butler Bureau site should an employer wish to follow that route. I just think that when there is a family member, or trusted employee, willing to devote the time to communicate with, initiate background checks and then interview staff then it is simple common sense, and makes good economic sense, to give them the tools to do just that."
