CHILLICOTHE, OH, August 28 / --  Michael Griffin, America’s Escape Hero, (http://www.escapeguy.com) In a potentially “dis-arming” escape brings the dare back to daredevil for a special one of a kind major escape attempt involving both wrists handcuffed with maximum security shackles secured to 100’ of coiled rope with the “terminal” end attached to one of the shows custom choppers waiting a scant 30 seconds before lurching into gear, speeding away from Griffin and possibly taking the Escape Artist’s arms with it at the 2009 Easyriders-Rodeo Tour in Chillocothe, OH  Sept 5th at 7:30PM as a special event in the Grandstands.
Michael Griffin, The only 2 time winner for TV’s World Magic Awards for Best Escape Artist was challenged by Easyriders Events (http://www.easyridersevents.com)  to attempt the most hair raising escape challenge imaginable using one of the show’s custom bikes as a modern “chopper twist” on the ancient torture Drawn and Quartered by bringing it current using modern high security shackles, rope and much more horsepower than in the old roman days hopefully putting the dare back into daredevil by Griffin making his escape in under the allotted 30 seconds.
This escape attempt is so dangerous that years ago during a performance tied between 2 cars and covered from view Griffin almost didn’t make it to tell.  Since then several stunt people including most recently Canada’s shortest and roundest Criss Angel impersonator broke his thumb attempting to escape still having to remove the locking device after the car had gone off.
Griffin says “all people everywhere have one thing in common with each other and that is we all have a certain amount of time or, moments on this earth.  I really wonder what the people who are going to be at this daredevil escape attempt would be thinking. What would they do in this situation where you knew all of your moments were now running out and you are left with possibly just the last 30 seconds, or moments in your life?”
Griffin guarantees that he will not back away from this challenge and that he intends to go into the arena – fully armed.
About Michael Griffin
Performing astonishing escapes and setting records around the World for over two decades, 2-time World Magic Award Winning Master of Escape, Michael Griffin is considered the Greatest Living Escape Artist.
He is the ONLY escape artist to ever attempt and survive a thirteen-knot Hangman’s Noose in 52 seconds! He has also escaped from a solid steel hermetically sealed airtight casket with a submarine style hatch locking the outside. Griffin has also escaped from handcuffs, ropes, locks, leg irons and chains from a maximum-security jail cell, the ice-covered Ohio River and from the silty bottom of the Pacific Ocean. But the spectacular underwater escapes don’t end there! He has been shackled hand and foot with a 65-pound ball and chain wrapped tight around his neck and lowered headfirst by a crane to the bottom of a lagoon.
Griffin is the only escape artist granted permission to use and reenact Houdini’s 1912 death-defying underwater crate escape. He successfully escaped within 45 seconds after being bound, handcuffed and sealed inside Houdini’s 90 year-old original packing crate lowered into the depths of Florida’s hurricane-kissed Intercoastal waters…just 5 days before the 76th anniversary of Houdini’s death.  What’s the secret? It’s Griffin’s strong mind, conviction, heart and belief system setting apart this distinguished performer from all others. “I do not use drugs or alcohol. I never have and I never will. I simply do not believe in their illusion, nor the illusion of negative thinking which is the toughest strait jacket we will ever face; but, if you put your mind to it, and you believe in yourself, you will always escape”
