Dry Tortugas Info, the premier center for information and tours out to the Dry Tortugas ( http://www.drytortugasinfo.com ) and Fort Jefferson, says that they hope to not have to cancel or postpone any of their Dry Tortugas and Key West snorkeling trips this season. "Of course, you can never really with the weather patterns, especially in Florida," says Dry Tortugas Info president Chris Martinez, "but we are keeping our hopes way high this year."
Trips out to the Dry Tortugas and Fort Jefferson ( http://www.drytortugasinfo.com ) depart daily on two ferries with passengers going on a 9 hour Day Trip or spending the night on one of the Dry Tortugas Camping Trips. The islands are located 70 miles off the coast of Key West and are known as being the best Key West snorkeling ( http://www.bestonkeywest.com ) trip, despite the fact that they are not actually in Key West. Fort Jefferson is a brick fort from Civil War era that was used as a war prison.
