Shorin Ryu Campus Karate has a new name, a new head master and Sensei (teacher). The club is affiliated with Seiyo Kai International, which is headed by Grand Master (Soke in Japanese) W. Dan Hausel 10th Dan. Soke Hausel is the world head and founder of Seiyo No Shorin-Ryu Karate Kobudo Kai and Seiyo No Shorin-Ryu Budo/Bujutsu-
Kai headquartered in Arizona, USA.

Okinawan Karate and Kobudo which was originally founded at UW by Soke Hausel. Our karate club has a rich history and tradition at UW as one of the original club sports recognized on campus. “Traditional Karate” is the original form of karate that teaches respect, traditions, self esteem, and devastating self defense. The Seiyo Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo Club will continue its normal training schedule of Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to noon in the Education Building gymnasium.
The University of Wyoming Seiyo Shorin-Ryu Karate & Kobudo Club was founded in 1978 by Grand Master Dan Hausel 10th Dan. Our club has trained some of the most highly educated Karate Ka in the world. We train in Traditional Okinawan Martial Arts.
