Sarasota, FL – The Sarasota Craft Show (sarasotacraftshow.com)
Richard and Joanna Rothbard, directors of the Slate Hill, N.Y.-headquartered American Art Marketing (www.americancraftmarketing.com)
The three-day event will feature 150 fine crafts artists working in clay, wood, glass, fiber, metals, gemstones and more. The original, handmade works will range in price from less than $50 to more than $1,000.
“This is the only fine craft show in the state and among only a handful held throughout the country,” said Richard Rothbard. “We will have beautiful works of arts that will be able to fit any budget. You will enjoy all of the comforts of going to a gallery while experiencing the fine art of American craft.”
For several years, the American Craft Council presented its American Craft Show at the Sarasota Bradenton International Convention Center during early December. In May, ACC officials announced the cancellation of both the Sarasota and Charlotte, N.C. craft council events.
Rothbard added that many of the artists who participated in last year’s will be returning but there will be many new faces as well. The admission will remain at $8 but a $10 three-day pass will allow patrons to come and go for the entire show.
“We also will give away to all attendees a $10 gift certificate for American Craftsman Galleries, which can be used at any one of the four locations. I am looking forward to exhibiting my puzzle boxes in Sarasota for the first time,” he said.
Information about the galleries owned by the Rothbards is available at www.anamericancraftsman.com. To learn more about Richard Rothbard’s career as an actor and artist, go to www.boxology.com or contact him at rothbard@warwick.net.
