Some may remember Demond Wilson from the groundbreaking 1970s television show “Sanford and Son.” He stared opposite Redd Foxx as Fred Sanford’s son Lamont Sanford. After the show ended, Wilson continued to act in television and movies, written screenplays and even became a pastor. He has even started an organization, Restoration House of America, to help first time convicted felons receive an education. His newest project is his book, scheduled for release on Aug. 31, “Second Banana: The Bittersweet Memoirs of the Sanford and Son Years.”
Wilson can thank his photographic memory for helping him keep a mental diary of the events back in the days of the show. Now this book can tell the story about what really happened behind the scenes of “Sanford and Son.” Wilson told The Celebrity Cafe “I just sat down, free of all the venom, to just tell our story. You can't Google the things that are in this book. It's privileged information.”
