Coppell Independent School District Cuts Costs and Generates Income

Sept. 1, 2009 - PRLog -- Recent budget cuts in the nation’s public school systems have sent school districts scrambling to cut costs and look for alternate sources of revenue. Several school systems across the US have already taken important steps to generate income on their own, including Coppell Independent School District (ISD) in Texas.
   
Five years ago, Coppell ISD made a decision that would save the 10,200+ student school system tens of thousands of dollars annually and help them capture lost revenues. In fact, in 2007 alone, Coppell ISD generated more than $230,000 in rental income, money that was deposited into the district’s general fund. The program has resulted in significant cost savings and reduced waste.

“In the past, we were manually processing forms in triplicate, which was a huge waste of time and paper,” said Dunphy. “Sometimes, the paperwork was never generated or was lost somewhere in a paper chain. Without SchoolDude, scheduling the 500+ groups and organizations we accommodate on a monthly basis would be a nightmare.”
