Phoenix, AZ- In today’s tough economy more than $133 million dollars in K-12 educational funding has been cut and education initiatives are rapidly decreasing in Arizona alone. Recognizing an opportunity to help, DriveTime Auto Sales, the nation’s largest integrated used car dealership and finance company serving people with less than perfect credit, initiated a request to sponsor Gateway Elementary through their SchoolTime Program.
The SchoolTime program sponsors the Back-to-School Backpack and Supply Drive each year to help kick off the new school year and get students who are in need the school supplies they need to be successful and excited about returning back to school. Backpacks filled with cartons of crayons, paper, and a heavy dose of love will be distributed to the deserving kids at Gateway Elementary. School Principal Nancy Uxa, states, “Gateway Elementary School and the Creighton School District are deeply honored to continue to receive both financial support and extraordinary volunteer work from the employees of Drive Time. This support has been and continues to be an invaluable resource for our school, district and families. The commitment from Drive Time sets the standard for community involvement from corporate citizens and their employees. Our students, families, faculty and staff are indebted to their continuing support.”

know who Drivetime is and go out of their way to say thank you. The backpack and supply drive is a great way to kick off the school year and get people in volunteer mode again."
SchoolTime was founded in 2004 as a way for DriveTime Auto Sales employees to actively participate within their local community. Volunteers for the SchoolTime program are fueled by DriveTime employees. They commit to donating time and resources to the school throughout the year. To date, School volunteers have donated hundreds of hours of their time with activities such as, standardized testing workshops, book drives and leadership development programs to the SchoolTime Program. Schools are selected by specific criteria in order to qualify for sponsorship. Qualifications include diverse demographics, a large percentage of English-as-a-
