This fantastic 2-week adventure holiday starts in Casablanca – world famous from the movie with Ingrid Bergman & Humphrey Bogart. You can choose to include a return flight from London in the booking price or you can find your own way to Casablanca.
The tours continue in 1st class, air-conditioned train to Fes which is considered the spiritual, intellectual and cultural capital of Morocco. You’ll stay in the heart of the ancient medina in the Riad Perle de la Medina, a typical residence transformed into a charming hotel with all the splendor and grandeur of the old private palaces.
On the 5th day of the journey we leave Morocco’s northern cities behind and embark on a long drive through mountains, forests and gorges until we end up in Merzouga, in the mighty Sahara Desert. Your accommodation here will be in the style of a traditional Kasbah fortress.
On the 6th day you will be crossing the Sahara sand dunes by camel until you reach your private Bedouin-style camp consisting of tents with comfortable mattresses and bedding, and rich carpets covering the sandy floor. You’ll fall asleep under the stars with only the sound of the whispering breeze through the sands and the assorted eructation’s of the camels. Each tent is partitioned into two 'bedrooms' and there are 'portaloo' style toilet arrangements.
This two week trip in Morocco will give you an amazing insight into a mysterious and enigmatic land. Staying in restored Kasbahs and Riads, some of which were once owned by the Moroccan nobility, you’ll have the opportunity to see both the highlights of this enchanting country as well as some of the ‘little gems’ that are often overlooked by visitors.
Ending up in charming, chaotic and charismatic, Marrakech – you get the chance to experience a truly unique atmosphere. Heaving with activity, Djemaa el Fna, the central square, has been a meeting point for centuries. Packed full of traders, Berber musicians, acrobats, snake charmers, witch doctors, wise men, acrobats and tooth pullers, the square’s hypnotic charm will soon rub off on you. There's no better way to experience Djemaa el Fna than to sample the local specialities on offer at the night-time food stalls. With lights flickering and smoke rising, watching the hive of activity from a café is the ideal way to capture the mystical atmosphere.
