Camarillo CA August 30, 2009 – Conversions Technology LLC., manufacturer of AV, CATV, Satellite and computer related products, is releasing the long awaited Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter with audio. The new adapter will join the Conversions Technology™ family line of Mini DisplayPort adapters for DVI, VGA and HDMI. With this new adapter will work with Macbooks mini DisplayPorts . With this new adapter users can now easily be connected to an HDMI projector, monitor or HDTV and have audio be outputted through the HDMI adapter.
There were a number of opinions for the first Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter without audio. Some liked it since they didn't require the audio with their application. Other MacBook users criticized the original adapter for the inconvenience of not having the option to have audio output. Customers complained about the pain of having to use multiple cables along with the adapter, such as a 3.5mm to RCA cable, in order to output audio from their MacBooks. Other customers also had problems with certain HDTV models ignoring all other audio outputs when an HDMI is plugged in. As a result, these customers had to route a separate audio system with their HDTV. Due to these problems, the adapters were developed as one adapter solution to display both audio and video.
Since HDMI protocol support both audio and video, users wondered why it wasn't possible to have the option of having audio come out the Mini DisplayPort adapter as well. The new adapters will be able to output audio signals through the USB port from the MacBooks. USB audio was integrated into the adapter with HDMI output to allow the audio pass through. Two USB 2.0 ports are also conveniently located next to the Mini DisplayPort which allows easy access to plug both cables in
The new adapter still has the same specifications as its predecessor as it still will be version 1.3b and support resolutions of up to 1080p. The adapter also looks similar to the current Mini DisplayPort to HDMI. The significant difference for the adapter will be the extra USB cable next to the Mini DisplayPort cable. The new adapter also supports uncompressed audio such as LPCM.
The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters with audio are planning to be released by August 2009. More product information and product availability will be available soon.
