Over Labor Day weekend, most teens would hang out with friends to enjoy the long weekend. But instead of going to the movies, a group of Rose Hill teens have chosen to raise money for charity with a marathon, but they won't be running. They are playing video game for a full 72 hours in order to make money for Child's Play, a charity that gives toys and games to hospitals for sick children to use.
For the group of Michael Mays, Michael Whinery, Dalton Plummer, and Dylan Waller, video game marathons are becoming a sort of tradition. "We've done one so far, back in early August, that was pretty successful. We had tons of fun and raised some money for charity, so we started planning a second one immediately after," says Mays.
The marathon will be broadcast live online at their website to watch and donate beginning Friday, September 4 at 7:00 PM until Monday, September 7 at 7:00 PM. All donations will go directly to Child's Play.
