Aug. 31, 2009 - PRLog -- Oscar Muñoz, head soccer coach at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, recently earned a National “B” License from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the official governing body of the sport of soccer in the United States. One of the most advanced licenses awarded, the B license recognizes the theoretical and practical knowledge of experienced coaches of players ages 16 to college-level.

As one of the requirements for licensure, Muñoz was one of 39 coaches from all over the United States, Canada and South America to attend a summer course taught by USSF coaches at the Darlington School, Rome, Ga. Through functional training sessions, the nine-day course teaches the responsibilities of coaching at advanced levels. Coaches learn to identify tactical and technical breakdowns in game situations and to develop appropriate training situations to improve team play.

“These high-level licenses take a lot of time and work,” said Muñoz, a former professional player from Colombia, “(but) this will translate into even better training and playing experience for TMI soccer players.”
