The full length show which is to be performed in October at the Capri Theater in Minneapolis is currently in pre-production with the company members hard at work completing the details of this moving piece. The piece is classified by the Artistic Director Francis Kofi as a “dance drama” which incorporates a combination of high energy dance, authentic stunning dress, vibrant traditional African music and moving theater. “The best way for the audience to understand the message of the piece is through multiple means of deliverance”
explains Francis Kofi, “the message and meaning behind the shows theme are important and it requires each of these means to fully get it across to the viewers”. The show which will run October 9th–11th at the Capri Theater in Minneapolis was inspired by traditional West African ceremonies that have been a part of distinct cultures for centuries. It is a perfect event for the entire family to attend and tickets can now be purchased to reserve your place. Hayor Bibimma Artistic Director, Francis Kofi, has been teaching dance for many years around the globe and was the Founder and Artistic Director of the original Hayor Bibimma in Accra, Ghana where they toured internationally. Now based in Minneapolis, Francis is still determined to educate audiences not only about the traditional dances and their meanings, but about the welcoming spirit of his culture to share the dances. The Company has been busy already this year at numerous local institutions for residencies, workshops and performances, anywhere there are persons looking to educate themselves in a fun exciting atmosphere.
