Berkshire Calloway releases information on its newly Trademarked “Microchise™”

Berkshire Calloway was awarded a trademark on their new 'micro-chise' business model. They have four patent pendings on the actualy business model that would not only pertain to the Personal and Leadership Industry but would transcend industries.

Aug. 31, 2009 - PRLog -- Berkshire Calloway announced today that it was finally releasing its widely anticipated microchise™ product to the market. The development of the product had been in the works since late 2008. Berkshire Calloway received a Trademark for the Microchise™ name, and has four patents pending on the business model.

Pierce De La Rocha, E.V.P. of Operations was quoted as saying “we believe, after collaborating with our corporate attorney’s that we will receive a patent on this concept and business model that will not only be applicable to the Personal and Leadership Development Industry, but will transcend across into each industry where franchising takes place”. The microchise™ was originally set for release in the first quarter of 2009, however there were some delays in developing the ‘micro-sites’ (individual website for each microchise™ owners that is provided free of charge and is attached directly to the central website).

Greg Steinaker, Founder was quoted “we were disappointed that the release of this completely brand new concept to the world of franchising was delayed until the 4th quarter of 2009, but  it was something that was completely out of our hands and we had no control over it. Our I.T. had all of the funding and the resources that it needed to roll the product out in the 1st quarter, it just boiled down to the fact that we were creating a business model- and subsequent internet platform – that had never been built before”. Mr. Steinaker went on to add “Now that the final product has moved out of beta, I could not be any prouder of our I.T. department than I am now, they not only met our expectations, but they exceeded it, many times over. The individuals that sign up for our microchise™ will be very pleased at the amount of different ‘looks and feels’ that they can create for their own micro-site”.

Definition of a Franchise:

A relationship between a manufacturer and a retailer in which the manufacturer provides the product, sales techniques, and other kinds of managerial assistance, and the retailers promises to market the manufacturer’s product rather than that of competitors. For example, most automobile dealerships are franchises. The vast majority of fast food chains are also run on the franchise principle, with the retailer paying to use the brand name.

Definition of a Microchise™ or Micro-chise™:

A relationship between a retailer and an individual in which the retailer has already established a relationship with a manufacturer or fulfillment center. The retailer provides the marketing, sales and advertising expertise and other types of; managing, coaching and mentoring to the franchisee. There exists an agreement between the retailer and the individual in which the retailer provides the individual the right to use the franchisor’s name and to sell its products and/or services. A microchise™ does not require the individual to pay any franchise fee to join, nor does it require the franchisee to share any of its revenue with the franchisor. The only suggested monetary related issues are that the franchisee should maintain between $1,500 and $2,500* in working capital to help launch their microchise™.

The benefits of running a Microchise™ instead of a franchise are too numerous to list. However some of the main benefits are; no revenue sharing, no franchise fee to begin operations, no inventory to carry, no ‘brick and mortar’ to maintain, all customer service and ‘back-end’ support is handled by the retailer and/or the fulfillment center, the Micro-chisee™ has the option of using the Franchisors established corporate logo and identity or they may establish their own branded entity (DBA, LLC, etc.) and  98%** of all microchises™ are ran from an individual home or virtual office – which brings overhead and operating expenses down to basic utilities.
