The relocation of a meat supplier to a Scottish town has reinvigorated the local labour market by providing 300 jobs.
Campbells Prime Meat has moved to a £6 million base in Heather Field in Lathallan, Whitecross, after a fire destroyed its previous facility in Broxburn, West Lothian, the Queensferry Gazette reported.
The company suggested that this relocation has given the business greater opportunity to expand its operations and workforce in the near future, which will likely benefit the Royal Burgh region.
Simon Walton, spokesman for Linlithgow Business Association, suggested that the Linlithgow area is becoming more commercially attractive.
He told the local newspaper: "Three hundred people employed locally can only add to the general economic activity around the Royal Burgh.
"We're very pleased that the facility at Whitecross has … kept an experienced workforce locally employed and economically active."
Last week, Sainsbury's announced that it would be creating jobs in Scotland by expanding its workforce in the country by 1,300 positions.
