Classic Artists Today©, a weekly syndicated radio show, announces that they will participate in a collaboration with Kompoz and Roger McGuinn, original member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band The Byrds, to conduct a contest that allows musicians worldwide to showcase their skills on a song with Roger McGuinn.
Classic Artists Today© – “The Best Songs Today…From Yesterday’s Top Artists,” will feature Roger McGuinn, in an interview talking about his “Folk Den” project and the contest with Kompoz. The special will air during the week of September 7, 2009.
The contest on Kompoz.com, will allow musicians worldwide, to lay down tracks on Roger McGuinn’s interpretation of the folk classic “Take This Hammer”. Kompoz is a social workspace for musicians and songwriters used to compose new music with other people around the world.
With Kompoz, you can collaborate with anyone to create and mix a new generation of independent music based on the open standards of the “Creative Commons.” The contest kicks-off at 8:00 AM (EST) September 7th, 2009 and runs through midnight (EST) November 7th, 2009.
“We’ve worked with original Foghat member Tony Stevens and Kompoz on a similar project in the past,” states R.K. White, managing director of Classic Artists Today, LLC. “Having been a great success, we look forward working with Raf Fiol of Kompoz again, along with the Hall of Famer – Roger McGuinn,” White added.
