Led by Dr. John Wilkerson and his knowledgeable staff, his orthopaedic team provides excellent diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services on site. In addition, their orthopaedic team provides surgical management of complex musculoskeletal disorders and sports medicine injuries. Dr. Wilkerson is very experienced in total joint replacement & joint reconstruction surgery, arthroscopic surgery, and trauma surgery.
Dr. John Wilkerson is a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. He is an active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Board Of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed General Orthopaedics training at the Virginia Commonwealth University - Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Wilkerson also has completed post graduate training in Orthopaedic Biomechanics as well as a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Miami.
Dr. Wilkerson's staff includes Karl René, PA-C, Board certified Physician's Assistant specializing in sports medicine and orthopaedic surgery. Mr. René is a graduate of the University of Florida Physician Assistant Program. Mr. René has completed an orthopaedic traumatology fellowship in Orlando, Florida at Florida Hospital. In addition, Mr. René is a board certified Athletic Trainer and has worked with Dr. Wilkerson for years while providing sports coverage for local high schools and universities.
The new office is located at 6705 Red Rd, Suite 418, Miami, Fl 33143. The office is directly across from Sunset Place Mall and is centrally located between Baptist Hospital, Doctor's Hospital, and South Miami Hospital where Dr. Wilkerson has active staff privileges. Dr. Wilkerson will begin seeing patients at his new office on September 1, 2009.
The web site, www.coreorthomiami.com , is currently under construction. When completed patients will be able to make appointments online, download patient registration & insurance forms. Also patients will be able to download educational brochures about injuries, treatments, and view surgical animations.
