Promise’s lyrical content is indeed on a plateau unattainable to many. After listening to every line in every bar, I have come to the realization that there are no Mc’s, (male or female) out right now who can hold a light next to this girl. I have never in my many years of being a fan of hip hop heard such raw metaphors unleashed with a by a sexy women with the face of a next top model. Not only is Promise lyrically a beast but she has perfected the ability to create really good music. She has the talent to relate to people of all different walks of life. Lady Promise is a pure threat, a force to be reckoned with and once again a true representation of what is currently lacking in this industry, “Real Hip Hop.”
As previously stated, Lady Promise has also produced many of her own tracks. She writes her own lyrics and to add to the list, she even ghost writes for unsigned talent and artists with current record deals as well. Promise has also built her own home recording studio, engineers her own sessions and mixes her own projects. What female MC do you know in the “hood” with the knowledge, perseverance and skill to do what many artists with a “record deal” can not and will never be able to do?
This Pretty Beast, has been blessed enough to work with Producer and Hip Hop Legend Maseo from De La Soul. ” Promise has also worked with DJ Rob, a hot producer from Brooklyn who produced the “Super Brooklyn” Radio Hit for the Co Co Brovas featuring Mr. Cheeks. She has performed everywhere, from the Apollo in Harlem, NY to Hip Hop Showcases all over the south.
