A Pink Slip Party is a networking event that allows those who have been “pink slipped”, or worried about their job security, to meet with recruiters, HR professionals and hiring managers in a casual, happy hour type setting. It provides a new lifeline for discouraged jobseekers that have not been able to secure a job in the recent months. Jobseekers can also commiserate with one another, share experiences and make new connections to help them accelerate their job search.
“Jobseekers are having a difficult time finding a job in this market and these types of events provide jobseekers with an outlet to network with, not only hiring managers, but also other candidates in the same situation,” said Marisa Cogan, VP of Marketing for JobCircle. “Sending out a resume is just not enough right now. You have to create a personal brand and go out and market yourself, and Pink Slip Parties are a great way to showcase your talents in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.”
The Lehigh Valley Pink Slip Party is planned for Tuesday, September 22nd from 5 to 8pm at Starters Riverport in Bethlehem, PA. The cover charge is $10 for jobseekers who register at http://www.jobcircle.com/
Both recruiters and jobseekers will receive colored necklaces so that they can be easily identified by industry. Recruiters can attend the event for free when they register at http://www.jobcircle.com/
