A Pink Slip Party is a networking event that allows those who have been “pink slipped”, or worried about their job security, to meet with recruiters, HR professionals and hiring managers in a casual, happy hour type setting. It provides a new lifeline for discouraged jobseekers that have not been able to secure a job in the recent months. Jobseekers can also commiserate with one another, share experiences and make new connections to help them accelerate their job search.
“Jobseekers are having a difficult time finding a job in this market and these types of events provide jobseekers with an outlet to network with, not only hiring managers, but also other candidates in the same situation,” said Marisa Cogan, VP of Marketing for JobCircle. “Sending out a resume is just not enough right now.
