Aug. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- When you get an acoustic guitar you're going to want to keep it in mint condition. I think this is a step that all people take when they finally get one. It doesn't seem to matter how much effort you put into protecting it, it will end up getting dents and scratches. It's definitely a downer, but you should know that you don't have to spend any money to fix this. You don't have to get finish put back on it. There are completely practical and easy ways to fix the problems.

Let's say that you get a dent on your guitar. You're definitely going to get little ones, so you have to know this trick. All you do is add a drop of water to the dent and the wood will absorb the water. The wood will swell up in such a way that it fills in the dent. It's the easiest solution to a problem everyone assumes is difficult to fix.

If you look at scratches you can apply another easy solution. Remember, the scratch isn't actually to the wood, but merely to the finish of the guitar. All you have to do is take clear nail polish and apply it to the scratch. It will fill in the scratch and since it is clear, you'll get the appearance of the finish on the guitar.
