In his business-coaching column, “How Investor Has Fun in Business and Technology,”
On The Biz Coach Web site, http://www.bizcoachinfo.com, Mr. Corbell writes the first of a three-part series in which he profiles the success of Mr. Dimmer. Mr. Dimmer is the managing member in a Tacoma, Washington-based private investment company, FIRS Management LLC.
Mr. Dimmer is also a co-founder of the Tacoma Angel Network, a non-profit organization that brings together accredited investors with companies seeking to raise private equity capital.
What is Mr. Dimmer’s business philosophy? Success follows hard work and commitment.
“I believe that integrity is everything,”
His favorite business quote came early in his career from a fortune cookie at lunch when he was trying to build a business.
It said, “The greatest joy in life is doing what others say you cannot do.”
Mr. Dimmer says he is competitive and motivated when others underestimate him. “Proving them wrong is such fun!”
Indeed, as a scratch golfer, he plans his putts like intricate business deals. But his passion is racing. He races in international historic racing events in his “ex-Jackie Stewart 1971 Tyrrell Ford 004 Formula 1 car” that can accelerate to 200 miles per hour.
As a business-performance consultant, Mr. Corbell has written 450+ business-coaching columns since 2001 for several media Web sites. He currently writes an Internet business-coaching column, The Biz Coach, for the Money News page at Seattle's KIRO, the "2009 National Edward R. Murrow Award Winner for Overall Excellence."
As a profit professional, he developed systems and strategies to relieve a company's financial stress, which includes a financial turnaround program on a pay-for-performance basis. Mr. Corbell provides complete solutions for a small retainer and one percent of the net-profit increase.
