In 1991, Edward Vick, who speaks English, German, French and Italian, founded translation services company EVS Translations.
From a one-man home office, the business has now grown into a company with more than 50 employees managing a network of around 1,350 freelance translators worldwide and offering professional translation services in over 40 languages.
EVS Translations provides project management and coordination services across various industries. Operations managers and native-speaker project managers handle at least 10,000 orders every year, delivering translation solutions to more than 1,000 customers.
In addition to its headquarters in Offenbach am Main, the company has three further offices in Germany – in Berlin, Cologne and Munich – as well as branches in the UK, Bulgaria and Ukraine.
As part of its ongoing international expansion, two years ago the EVS Group opened its first office in the United States. The new office in Atlanta, Georgia, is an ideal location for supporting the company’s continued growth and increasing client demand.
From its beginnings as a small translation company, EVS Translations has grown to become Germany’s No. 1 provider of financial translation services.
No other company can boast such a highly diversified customer base or such in-depth financial expertise. With its head office located in the direct vicinity of Germany’s finance capital Frankfurt am Main, EVS provides its translation skills to around 200 listed companies. Numerous analyst teams turn to EVS when it comes to translating their company analyses.
EVS translates more than 110 annual reports every year.
To ensure that the terminology used by its financial translators is correctly and consistently applied, EVS Translations maintains one of the largest IFRS/IAS/HGB terminology databases of its kind.
In addition, company-specific terminology databases along with extensive specialised multilingual glossaries (including an insurance glossary containing over 15,000 specific terms) ensure that clients receive accurate translations of even the most complex specialised texts.
