Aug. 27, 2009 - PRLog -- (TWS PR Firm) -- New Orleans native, Daphne Marie Doucette, will appear on Fox’s television morning show, Good Day Atlanta, to announce her debut book release on the 4th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.   Doucette’s novella, Dirty Butter, explodes onto the literary scene with the promise of becoming the talk of everyone’s town.  “Dirty Butter” is Doucette’s chosen introduction into the literary world and the novella is just as hard-hitting as the title would have you believe.

The novella breathes life into Christina Lancaster, the dominating character, who is an extreme example of a woman who has gone adrift – misled by her memories, lost to her choices, and devoid of all hope.   The story unfolds in a manner that takes hold of the reader and does not let go until the last page is turned.  In fact, it is a story that begs to be seen on the silver screen.  That is precisely why Doucette is in the preliminary stages of having her book transcribed into a screenplay, which can be done with relative ease since untraditional in its style, Dirty Butter reads much like a movie script.  Doucette comments, “When I began Dirty Butter, I felt strongly that the style had to be pared down so the central message was truly central,” smiling she continues.  “There are worse things to be called than untraditional.  I rather like being called untraditional because it’s true.”
Dirty Butter has already garnered the attention of several would-be leading ladies who at this early juncture shall remain unnamed.  “This next phase of Dirty Butter is quite exciting to me.  Finding the right actress to take on Christina’s persona will be a very interesting undertaking, but I am so ready for it.”

Following her television appearance on August 28, 2009, on Good Day Atlanta, Doucette will be having a book signing at Borders Books at Arbor Place Mall (6700 Douglas Blvd. Douglasville, Georgia 30135) on August 29, 2009, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  This is a momentous occasion for the New Orleanian who once believed that “Dirty Butter, “ along with other completed manuscripts, had been lost in Katrina’s furor.  Book in hand, Doucette states, “Holding a book signing on the 4th anniversary of Katrina is amazing to me.  Believing I had lost Dirty Butter, I feel absolutely victorious.”

About Dirty Butter:

Dirty Butter is the story of a woman whose outward parade of colossal confidence cloaks a total absence of self-worth driven deep into her psyche by a hate-filled, contemptuous grandmother. She employs, at will, sarcasm and sexuality in an effort to influence the thoughts and actions of others. Skirting around her husband's suspicions and drop-kicking the feelings of other women, she enslaves those around her with the embittered chains that hang around her heart--courtesy of Granny Alma.

In spite of feeling thoroughly unworthy of the love her husband freely gives, she capitalizes on his crippling need to believe in her. But in truth, she waits for the day he will discover the mistake he made in loving her, and through her scandalous conduct she knowingly makes that day more of a looming likelihood.

After relocating to New Orleans, she encounters a woman who ultimately helps to steer her to the path of admission and restoration--a path that she did not believe someone of her disreputable character could ever hope to tread.
