FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) –
Aug 27, 2009 – ITEN Media Pvt Ltd and RAGA Integrated Technology Management Services Pvt Ltd are pleased to announce the launch of the maiden edition of World Renewable Energy Technology Congress (WRETC 2010), a 3 day international conference & exhibition on renewable energy, with the support of Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India. The mega energy industry event will take place on 3-5 March 2010 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
Covering the industry's entire value chain, and spotlighting innovative technologies & solutions for all application areas, WRETC 2010 would be an all-inclusive event for the Renewable Energy sector. The international exhibition will showcase machinery, equipment, technology and services for the entire spectrum of industry, while the scope of the concurrent conference with the theme "Global Technology Cooperation for Renewable Energy" will be to identify the opportunities and challenges facing this sector. Speaking on the launch, iTEN Media CEO, Abhishek Bhatnagar said “Currently 76% of the electricity generation in India is through thermal power plants, predominantly using coal which accounts for 40 percent of India’s total greenhouse gas emissions. With global warming concerns taking centre stage globally & coal reserves depreciating fast, it is becoming increasingly unsustainable for India to continue relying on coal-produced power. Despite the deepening energy crisis, renewable energy, predominantly wind and biomass, make up 3 only percent of India's total electricity production. Solar energy is not even a fraction of that. However as part of the National Action Plan on Climate Change, India has unveiled a $19 billion plan to produce 20 GW of solar power by 2020. With commitments to combat global warming while continuing its growth at a rapid rate, India would have to develop renewable energy to supplement conventional power supply” WRETC would thus be instrumental in creating a roadmap for India to achieve energy security and self-reliance. It endeavours to be the leading international forum for deliberations on policy & technical issues affecting the domestic & global renewable energy industry while bringing in new technology and investments. The mega forum is dedicated to offer the global industry participants the opportunity to communicate and network in one of the fastest developing economies of the world.
