The Canadian Expat Association has announced that effective immediately it will be updating the CEA website with Travel Alerts published by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada.
“It makes sense that we would provide information about what the Canadian government is saying about safety issues around the world.” Says Allan Nichols, Executive Director of the CEA, “Our members are located literally around the globe and they make frequent trips for both business and leisure to other countries and regions. As a service to our members, we try to provide information as close to real-time as possible.”
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada provides updates to travel reports and warnings for the general public on a daily basis and the Canadian Expat Association is now compiling a list of those updates to provide a snapshot of which countries have been updated this week. When a visitor clicks a country of interest on the CEA website they are taken directly to the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada pages for detailed information.
“It’s not just travel alerts that we update our members with.” Says Nichols, “When we get information that we think might affect our members even indirectly, we try to get that out to them as well.” From the beginning of this year, the Canadian Expat Association has also been publishing new diplomatic postings as soon as they are announced by DFAIT.
