Author Frank Delaney will be at the Oliver Wolcott Library on Thursday, Sept. 10 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Delaney’s Shannon is the story of a young American war hero suffering shell-shock after his experiences in the First World War’s terrible battle of Belleau Wood. He comes to Ireland to trace the river of his ancestors and try to find his way in the world again and stumbles into the Irish Civil War where he meets the lives of many idiosyncratic characters. Delaney himself was born in Ireland and worked for some time in radio broadcasting, including BBC, and television. He has published non-fiction, novels, a novella and many short stories.
