Don Potter, a 50 year veteran of the advertising agency business, recently created PreBoomermusings.com, a conversation for the pre-boomer generation. More than 30 million people make up the pre-boomer generation, “The most overlooked segment of the population" according toPotter.
Don Potter wrote an acclaimed marketing book, “The 50+ Boomer: Your Key to 76 Million Consumers.” Having worked in NYC in the early 1960s and moving on to LA in the late 1970s, he has been involved in ad campaigns for some of the country’s best-known brands. In 1985, Don founded and served as CEO of what later became one of the west coast’s leading agencies before selling the company in 2004.
He has written two novels with Madison Avenue as the backdrop. In addition, Don continues to write about marketing and advertising issues and is a frequent speaker at business conventions and seminars as well as at the university level. He has served as an expert witness in advertising cases and consults for a few select clients. His marketing background and natural curiosity inspired him to continue studying the nation’s evolving demographics.
Don Potter went on to say, “I’m an advocate for traditional values, common sense solutions and the American dream. I believe pre-boomers are living proof of how these principles work, and my goal is to encourage them to pass these precepts on to their families and their communities for the good of all generations, now and in the future. So I invite everyone to visit my blog and participate in the dialogue.” Don's blog can be found at: http://www.pre-
